We play a direct role in ensuring our communities are healthy, safe and enjoyable places to live, work and play - and I love that I am a part of that.
Volunteering with the Board has allowed me to gain experience in governance and strategic planning and has given me the chance to see how the organization runs from the top down. Being relatively new to the industry, seeing an organization from the Board and CEO perspective has been extremely valuable. Serving on the Board, I've also had the opportunity to network with many individuals and I've learnt so much from my fellow Board members, the SPRA staff and the members that I have met along the way.

I decided to run for the SPRA Board because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and help shape the future of recreation for our province. This experience has helped me grow as a recreation professional.

Recreation employers are often supportive of any endeavors that will help their employees grow and will provide opportunities that they may otherwise not have.
