Attending the Forum isn’t just an investment in your professional development, it’s a sign of your commitment to the health and vitality of the parks and recreation sector.
Here are 3 easy ways you can make a convincing case to your employer when asking to attend the Forum:
- Outline the sessions you want to attend. There are 2 engaging keynotes, 30 inspiring sessions and fun networking opportunities planned every day that all align with the Framework’s five Goals. Check out the Program and
take note of the sessions that are most beneficial to you, your team, community or organization.
- Estimate the costs required for you to attend the Forum. Take advantage of early bird pricing and discounted hotel rates. Sharing hotel accommodations with a colleague or friend is another way to save money.
- Apply for Funding. Apply for professional development funding opportunities like the Harry Boothman Bursary to help subsidize the costs. Other
opportunities for discounts may also be available. For example, SPRA is offering a $225 rebate to our members attending both the Forum and the 2018 SPRA Conference in Maple Creek/Cypress Hills*.
SPRA is excited to co-host this event with the Government of Saskatchewan, Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, in collaboration with our national partners, the Interprovincial Sport and Recreation Council and
the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association.
So mark your calendars, and make your case - We hope to see you there!
