June is Recreation & Parks Launch Event
June Is Recreation & Parks Month has kicked off for another year of fun recreation adventures across Saskatchewan towns and cities. This year’s launch event was held on June 4 in Strasbourg. The event was held in honour of the grand opening of Jubilee Splash Park and kids play area. Community members off all ages attended the event and got to spend the afternoon soaking up the sun amongst friends. Children got to run around on the open green space playing with prizes, climb on the new playground and bounce on the bouncy castle.
The entertainment for parents and seniors was by the energetic Brenda Lee who got the crowds toes tapping to country classic hits. The afternoon was a great success with over a hundred people attending. Honourable guests included MLA Glen Hart, Mayor of Strasbourg Ken Swanston and SPRA Board Member Jaime Helgason who all spoke about the importance of parks and recreation in our communities.
Thank you to the Strasbourg Recreation Board and community volunteers for hosting such a great event and working so hard to bring this new recreation area to the town of Strasbourg.
