SPRA Welcomes Brian Chmarney

Hello. My name is Brian Chmarney and I’m excited to have joined SPRA Team as the Grants and Funding Assistant Consultant.

I completed my Kinesiology Degree in Exercise and Sport at the University of Saskatchewan and have spent several years working in municipal recreation environments in managing facilities, developing programming, and establishing relationships with community groups. I have also worked with several sport organizations and private entities in recreation and wellness settings.

In past years I volunteered with the SPRA Recreation Section Grant Review Committee and have always taken a keen interest in the tremendous work of the SPRA. The opportunities that recreation provides the public has always been a passion of mine.

In my free time, I enjoy coaching basketball, being outdoors, and spending time with my wife, Darla, and our two children, Elsie and Jack. I feel privileged to be joining such a great Team and I look forward to contributing to recreation through this role.
