The Government of Saskatchewan’s 2024-25 Budget announced March 20, 2024 projects a $273 million deficit. Some key highlights for the Parks and Recreation Industry:
- The Community Rink Affordability Grant continues with $1.6 million, the Saskatchewan Veteran Service Club Support Program with $1.5 million, and Active Families Benefit continues to be available
- $615k increase for Saskatchewan Regional Parks
- $1.4 million for Urban Parks
- $2.1 million increase to Community Initiatives Fund
- $15 million for capital and infrastructure improvements in Saskatchewan provincial parks
- $160,000 funding commitment to partner with the Rick Hansen Foundation to increase awareness on common accessibility barriers that persons with disabilities experience
