Regional Recreation Practitioner Program
The Regional Recreation Practitioner Program provides financial support to help you employ a full-time Recreation Practitioner.
Team up with an Urban Municipality, Rural Municipality, First Nation and/or Regional Park Authority and collaborate to complete the application form by October 31, 2025.

Training Grant
The Training Grant aims to enhance local skills and qualifications by supporting recreation and parks volunteers, and staff in accessing training.
This grant provides funding for skill development in areas critical to the effective management or delivery of services, programs and facilities. Eligible training may include certifications or courses related to facility operations, program development, safety standards, evaluation practices, resource management, or facilitation.
There is no deadline for this grant. Applications are accepted between Oct. 1, 2024 to June 1, 2025.
Parks For All Action Grant
The Parks for All Action Grant is a commitment to the national Parks for All Action Plan and aims to support efforts that achieve the Parks for All Vision. Efforts can be local, regional or provincial in scope. Applications should highlight how people will be engaged, and the long term benefits that are expected.
The Vision is: Connected Canadian park lands and waters that support healthy nature and healthy people in harmony for generations to come, backed by an active, diverse parks community that cultivates shared goals, mutual respect and collective action.
Framework in Action Grant
The Framework in Action Grant aims to support SPRA member initiatives that advance the goals and priorities identified within The Framework for Recreation in Canada 2015 – Pathways to Wellbeing. Initiatives will show alignment with one (1) of the goals of the Framework and can be local, regional or provincial in scope.
Get Moving Grant
The Get Moving Grant aims to support initiatives that advance the areas of focus identified within A Common Vision for Increasing Physical Activity and Reducing Sedentary Living in Canada: Let’s Get Moving (or, the Common Vision). Initiatives will align with one of the areas of focus of the Common Vision and can be local, regional, or provincial in scope.
The Common Vision is a new, collective way forward that will guide the country towards ways of increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary living. It is a national policy document that is intended to move the country.
Community Rink Affordability Grant
Skating and curling rinks are integral to the creation of vibrant, active, and connected communities in Saskatchewan. Administered by SPRA on behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, the Community Rink Affordability Grant is intended to support communities and organizations with the operating costs of indoor ice surfaces.
In 2025-26, the province will double the program funding to $3.2 million, increasing the grant to $5,000 per indoor ice surface.
Applications for the 2025-2026 season will open in January 2026.

School Playground Equipment Grant
Funded by the Government of Saskatchewan and administered by SPRA, the School Playground Equipment Grant program is expected to start accepting applications in fall 2025. Up to $50,000 in matched funding will be available for schools to build a new playground or update existing equipment.
It is estimated that approximately 75 projects will receive support each year.
